Gilad Shalit (born 28 August 1986) is an Israeli soldier who was kidnapped on 25 June 2006 by Palestinian militants in a cross border raid from the Gaza Strip on the crossing Kerem Shalom (in Israel) and has been held hostage by Hamas since.

Shalit, a soldier of the IDF’s Armor Corps, held the rank of corporal at the time of the incident but has since been promoted to staff sergeant.

 

 

 

He became the first Israeli soldier captured by militant Palestinian forces since Nachshon Wachsman in 1994. His abduction and the following cross border raid by Hezbollah, resulting in the abduction of Ehud Goldwasser and Eldad Regev into Lebanon, occurred prior to the conflicts in Gaza and Lebanon during summer 2006.

 

Shalit holds French citizenship, a fact that encouraged France and the European Union to be involved to some extent in the efforts to release him. Hamas has barred the International Red Cross from seeing him, and demands the release of 450 Palestinian prisoners.

Twee keer kort na elkaar komt het CDA op een wel hele vreemde manier in het nieuws

Eerst met de commissie Brinkman die het heeft over internet belasting om de kranten in nederland overeind te houden

“De overheid moet een heffing opleggen op alle internetabonnementen. Met dat geld moeten innovatieve initiatieven in de krantenwereld worden gefinancierd.”

en daarna komt Joop Atsma met een plan voor een “content gestapo”

“Er moet een toezichthouder komen die in de gaten houdt wie ongeoorloofd online content van andere partijen gebruikt.”

Hier weer het bewijs dat de (oude) politiek in Den Haag echt geen idee meer heeft wat er in de samenleving omgaat en met een compleet wereldvreemd beeld met dit soort voorstellen komt.

Wie verzint nu zoiets?

Nou, dat wie dat weten we wel, kijkt en huivert:

Naast voorzitter Elco Brinkman zijn dat voormalig voorzitter Inge Brakman van het Commissariaat voor de Media, hoofdredacteur Bart Brouwers van dagblad Sp!ts, voormalig topman Paul Molenaar van Ilse Media, hoofdredacteur Rimmer Mulder van de Leeuwarder Courant, voormalig VPRO-directeur Peter Schrurs en journalist Yvonne Zonderop.”

Is dit weer het zoveelste gevalletje van (s)linkse menschen bij elkaar?  Kennelijk wel.

en oooooh!  Daar komt Europa ook weer om de hoek kijken.

Je weet wel, dat goede Europa, het samenzijn, dat ervoor zorgt dat het zo goed gaat in Nederland..

“Het liefst ziet Atsma een Europese aanpak, om daarna buiten de Europese grenzen te treden. “Eerst moeten we het in Nederland goed regelen. De kranten hebben minder last van wat op wereldwijde schaal gebeurt dan de activiteiten op de binnenlandse markt."”

Even when the situation in Iran is uncertain, some people stay positive and even make jokes about it.

And who had ever thought about it that the Iranian leadership, who wasn’t scared off by the might of the American military, shits it’s pants because of some micro blog and social media service called Twitter?

Well… There we go…    Twitter is down for maintenance..

They think Twitter will be up and running within the hour..

In the mean time… What will happen in Iran during Twitter’s maintenance?
